Audio edition and podcast feed
The narrated edition: how the script is written, pronunciation, voices, and the private podcast feed.
Growth and up (standard voices) · Business (premium voices) · Enterprise (custom voice) · Starter add-on
The audio edition is your paper read aloud, about as long as the written edition takes to read. It’s made for commutes and for people who’d rather listen.
How the script is written
- A separate writing pass turns the verified edition into a spoken script with chapters: the top of the news, one chapter per section, the Chart of the Day, and a sign-off.
- It only re-voices verified stories. Nothing new is added.
- Numbers are made speakable, so “$142,000” becomes “142 thousand dollars”.
- Your glossary sets pronunciation for names and product terms.
- Targets: about 900 words for Quick, 1,400 for Standard and 1,900 for Long.
Turning it on
Toggle Audio on the edition at Editions›(edition). On Starter, add the Audio for Starter add-on ($79/month) first. The narrated edition appears in the web edition’s Listen player.
Private podcast feed
On Growth and up, each reader will get a private podcast feed URL to add to their podcast app. The URL is personal and unguessable. Treat it like a password, and reset it if it leaks. The feed is coming soon. Until then, listen in the web edition.
